Interesting. But the stock market will never go down. It no longer needs participants or even an economy. The Fed's high frequency trading bots can buy all stocks as soon as they are sold and can then bid the Dow up to 1,000,000 in a single session if they want. If a meteor struck the earth and wiped out 99% of all life and somehow a working touch screen was found in the rubble still with internet, it will show the Dow and S&P steadily rising. When the time comes that the dollar is finally worthless, oligarchs will use paper stock certificates to purchase entire states. For instance, Montana will be purchased by a single share of Apple stock. But if stocks could still crash and did, authorities would just say Iran and Russia caused it with a cyberattack, and then get their big war, with enthusiastic support. Thank the public schools.

Boom. Mic drop, Wendy. 🎤

You nailed it. A Ponzi scheme of epic proportions, hiding in plain sight while the world has somehow become comfortable with the idea that debt doesn’t really have to be repaid.

Someone always carries the risk. It’s just rarely the person who created it.
